Not guilty! Kathrin Bestler    7/31/2008

Recently when I was praying together with my husband I saw Jesus how He was at the right side of the Father. And He was busy to advocate for the people that were accused by the enemy.

It says in the word of God in 1. John 2:1: My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Every time when Satan accused and condemnation rose up, the Lord answered: "Not guilty." He didn't have to say much but he had such an authority that there was no room for doubt and the enemy had to draw back.

Jesus himself knows the best why He can say: "Not guilty." Because He is the one that has taken all the blame on himself. He carried all our guilt and has shared the blood and given His life and now He stands here to advocate us. From a legal point of view there is no right for accusation because the price has been paid. We are cleansed and made white again, the sin is washed away and has no power anymore in our lifes.

It also reminded me at the scripture of when some people brought the woman taken in adultery to Jesus and they wanted to stone her. Whoever of those was without guilt so he could throw the first stone? Nobody! All of them were not holy and without guilt out of their own strengh. Only trough Him they could become blameless. It had so much power when Jesus told the women who was an adultress: "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

It so easy to judge and to point out all the negative things. It's easy to see the sin and to condemn people. But we can do exactly the opposite and forgive the sin of the people. It maybe sounds a bit like heresey but it's very biblical. Jesus said to His deciples in John 20:23: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.."

Thats the heart that the Lord wants to give you. I call it a "Not guilty-attitude". It's a attitude that will lead people into freedom. So you can go out and share the grace and speak it into the hearts of people. It is the attitude and heart of the Lord. It's full of mercy and speaks against every accusation and condemnation that the enemy repeatedly tries to bring.

So you will reach the hearts and melt them. Many are so full of burdens and weighed down by guilt. They know that they have become guilty. They carry heavy burdens from what they have experienced in the past. But when you look at them and tell them: "Hey, you are not guilty. Your sins are forgiven. Jesus took it away." Then the burdens fall off the people and they can come into the freedom of the Lord.

I pray right now that Jesus plants this deep into your heart. Thank you Lord that you give this attitude into the hearts and that you let it grow strong. That all the judging will be taken away and that we receive a heart full of mercy and compassion. Only you can give that and I know that you want to do that. I just thank you Lord. Thank you for your work within us that brings forth a change and lots of fruit. You make all the dry land thrive again. You shatter all the prison walls and bring forth what you love to do: leading your people into freedom. I praise you Jesus! Amen.
